Remodeling a Kitchen or Bathroom

When it comes time to remodel a Kitchen or Bathroom there can be many different concerns to take into account. Some of those include the quality of materials and quality of workmanship. When deciding these factors it can sometimes extensive research done on a company. This can take many forms including price comparisons, design comparisons, personal recommendations when you know someone who has had remodel work done recently and reviews of work, which can usually be found online.

Quality of Materials

The quality of materials used is an important consideration. The type and style of materials is also going to affect the price. The important thing to figure out is if the company you are buying the materials from is offering the right price for the type of materials they are offering. If the company has a higher price for a product or service do they offer something that compensates for the added expense.

Quality of Workmanship

The quality of workmanship is important to consider as well. It is great if a company offers an outstanding product but they need to back it up with their workmanship.

Peoria AZ Kitchen Remodel Customer Reviews

We take a lot of pride in all we do, and one of the most gratifying things we receive is an honest review from our customer.
We don't give rewards like theater tickets, or run free ipod contests to entice our customers, that's simply unethical, and it adds costs.

Kitchen Cabinets and Islands By Glendale Apartment Remodeling Contractor

Kitchen AZ Cabinets and More Glendale AZ Apartment Remodeling Contractor Design and Installation Specialists
The most important feature for an apartment is the Kitchen

With the demand for apartments on the rise, now is the time to update the Kitchen. Just like homebuyers, renters are looking for the extras and apartment has to offer. One of the best extras to offer is the kitchen. Most kitchens in apartments are run of the mill, ho hum and bland. Make sure the renters are not only surprised but avid to be living in the apartment you have to offer. One way to make the kitchen stand out is by adding an island. Most Apartments lack an island so it is a great way to make and apartment stand out by adding one.

Color, Color and More Color

Most apartments are uniform in their drab white walls and neutral flooring options. Color is a great way to make an apartment speak for itself. It can take the form of colorful light fixtures that give the room an extra pop. These are an easy way to add color without committing too much into a tenant enjoying the color you choose. Another way would be to add A crown of color above any cabinets that don’t reach the ceiling. This can be a bold color or even a light color like a mint green. Tile flooring or backsplashes are another great way to add color to a Kitchen or Bathroom.

Kitchen Remodeling for Glendale AZ. Licensed Contractor Offers Free Cabinet, Island, Countertop, Flooring Custom Designs.

Are you ready to Design your new Kitchen?

A new kitchen is one of the first things homebuyers are looking for. It I s also one of the factors that can change sellers minds about selling their home. With a new Kitchen a homeowner not only adds value to a home but increases the likelihood of a quick sale. For those who have no interest in selling their home a newly designed kitchen have many different benefits. One of those benefits is designing a kitchen for usability. Design a kitchen for who you are and what you most want out of a kitchen.

Why choose a general contractor?

A general contractor gives you many different benefits that a cabinet sales store can’t give to you. The first thing to consider is a general contractor stays with you and your project from start to finish. They interact with all of the different parts of your project. When remodeling a kitchen there are many different parts to the remodel including; flooring, cabinets, countertops, electrical, plumbing and drywall/painting that can be a part of the remodel. While not every kitchen remodel will be comprised of all these parts there is a good likelihood that it will have at least three of these. This is where your general contractor comes in handy. Not only do they have names of specific contractors that specialize in each area, they have also worked with them on prior projects and k now how well they will do with your kitchen remodel. The other great thing about general contractors is they act as a buffer between the homeowner and all the different contractors on a kitchen remodel. The general contractor is there to see that each part of the kitchen remodel is completed to specifications with minimal disturbance to the homeowner.

Kitchen specs:

  • Bridgewood-Advantage Wheaton style cabinets
  • Stainless Steel appliances
  • Granite Countertops
  • Tile Flooring similar to Marazzi’s Blissful Brown from their Essentials Line.

Custom Kitchen Islands and Cabinet Designs and Installation in Glendale

Free in home designs for Kitchen cabinets, countertops, backsplashes and flooring AZ Licensed General Contractor in Glendale

Islands, Islands, Islands and Peninsulas?
Islands are a great way to use space in a kitchen while creating extra work space. Peninsulas serve the same function. What you choose to go with is not only a matter of what your kitchen can support space wise but personal preference as well. Peninsulas are a great way to separate the kitchen from another room. Islands, on the other hand, are typically used to define work space in a kitchen from dining areas.

Light it up!
The lighting is a very important component of any kitchen design. Some of the lighting you need to consider is the overhead lighting. The most popular lighting for overhead lighting right now is can lights. The next type of lighting is spot lighting also called work space lighting. Right now the most popular lighting for spot or workspace lighting is pendant lighting though we have also seen can lighting used for this same purpose. The next type of lighting is under cabinet lighting. Most under cabinet lighting is used as mood lighting or a great way to keep a light on in the kitchen at night.

Finish your Kitchen Design with Countertops and Tile Backsplashes.
The best way to complete a design is with custom countertops and backsplashes. Tile backsplashes are very popular right now. They are an easy way to let your personality and style shine through. The countertop choices available today are endless. Whatever your choice, be it wood, granite, solid surface or glass just to name a few, it is a up to you to determine which countertop type works best for you and your design. Each type of counter top has its own unique pros and cons.

Designing your Kitchen Remodel

When Blueprint drawings of your Newly Designed Kitchen Remodel

A good general contractor is going to provide you with a blueprint of your new kitchen. It is important that you understand what is presented to you in the drawings. These drawings are used by the cabinet installers and need to be correct. It is up to you to approve the final layout and design, if you can't read the blueprint how do you know it is right?

Measurements on your Kitchen Remodel Blueprint

The blueprint is going to include all walls that will have cabinets installed on them. On the outside edge of the wall will be at least one set of measurements that give the total length of wall that cabinets are installed on. For walls that have windows there will be a second set of measurements. The second set of measurements will have the measurements of any windows and the distance between the corner or end run of cabinets and the window.

Check to make sure that all of the appliances are where you want them to be. Your next step is to count up the base and wall cabinets to make sure that you are talking about the same number of cabinets. The base cabinets on the drawing will be indicated by larger boxes. The upper cabinets will be depicted in smaller boxes located on top of the base cabinets next to the wall.

Remember the kitchen we spoke about last week?

This customer decided to open up their kitchen and remove the peninsula so the room flowed from kitchen to dining room.

Our next blog will deal specifically with elevation designs!

This is your newly designed kitchen remodel! If it does not seem right it is up to you to request any changes or clarification to the blueprints. For more information please contact Kitchen AZ Cabinets.

Setting up a Free In Home Consultation for Kitchen Cabinets in Phoenix, AZ

A Free In Home Consultation has more than one benefit

There are many reasons to set up an in home consultation and some are more obvious than others. Measuring a room for a different custom cabinet layout can be a challenge for some homeowners. The advantage of having someone come in to do the exact measurements is that they know their product and can often suggest cabinet sizes that you may have not considered when they know what kind of space they are dealing with.

The next advantage is that the designers carry samples of doors, trim and stain samples. This gives a homeowner the chance to view their choices under the lighting available in their home. We have all bought something that we were sure was one color in the store only to find that the color changed when viewed in a different light.

Meeting in your home gives the designer a chance to view the area as a whole and how you currently make use of the area as well as what you want from the final remodel. A kitchen can have multiple different functions and designs. The homeowner who wants their kitchen to be a family gathering place has different requirements from the homeowner that views their kitchen as a place to cook in peace.

Kitchen AZ Cabinets' latest In Home Consultation visit in Phoenix, AZ

We recently had the opportunity to visit a home in Phoenix, AZ. The kitchen we came to look at featured two tone painted cabinets. The frames of the cabinets have been painted a light tan color while the doors a creamy white. The countertops are a pink laminate color. It was very obvious that the kitchen was used and taken care of well. After spending time taking measurements of the kitchen our designers sat down with the homeowners to learn more about them and what they want out of their newly remodeled kitchen. Trim options, door styles and paint and stain colors were examined and ideas started to take shape. After our consultation was complete the designer headed home to put finishing touches on the design that will be presented to the customer.

This is what the designers saw when arriving for the free in home consultation.

Be sure to visit again for an update on this remodel design. Our next blog will examine the design plans and how to read a design.

Goodyear Kitchen/Bar Remodel in Progress

While this remodeling project in Goodyear, AZ is not complete yet we are too excited to wait. It is too often easy to get caught up in the end results and the excitement of designing a remodeling project. Whether it is a kitchen, bathroom or any room or space in your home for that matter it is important to remember the construction time. The scope of your remodeling project will determine the amount of time you spend in the construction phase. Construction can be done in a matter of hours or can last several weeks. The average remodeling project lasts about a week. When planning a remodel it is important to consider how the construction will affect your daily life. Will you have access to running water or even a bathroom? How long will the kitchen take to be completed from start to finish? It is recommended that you work with your general contractor so that you understand just what is happening and when it will happen.

Common questions to ask a General Contractor before they begin
  • Will the water need to be shut off?
    • If the answer is yes find out how long it will need to be off and when it will be shut off.
  • Will you be working on multiple rooms at the same time?
    • People often do both bathrooms and the kitchen at the same time. Depending on your contractor and the time frame estimate they may want or need to work on all three rooms at the same time. This is usually the case when a plumber, electrician or flooring installer is called.
  • How long will this project last?
  • Does someone need to be present during the remodeling?
These are just a few questions that a homeowner should know before construction on their home starts.

Scottsdale Kitchen Remodeling Contractor Project

Scottsdale AZ
Custom Kitchen Remodeling Project

This recent custom kitchen remodel was completed in a home in Scottsdale, AZ. The entire kitchen was demo'd and removed at no charge.   The customers were living throughout the home as we were remodeling and our Negative Air System performed beautifully, keeping all dust and debris from entering the immediate work area and the entire home.

Kitchen Remodeling Project Creation

The project started with a complimentary custom design quote that was generated with professional Virtual Design Studio. The customer was amazed at the large selection of over 18 cabinet finishes, crown moldings and 30 plus color combinations of granite countertops available. We then walked them through our custom kitchen island designs and variety of custom backsplashes and natural stone.

During our design session our customers decided to include custom travertine tile flooring and we ultimately ended up with a full color rendering of their creation. Once we had the final print, the only component they decided to leave out was the cabinet door handles.

This kitchen remodel was actually completed in 3 weeks, from demolition to finished product.

Call us at 602-357-0739 to schedule your free custom home remodeling project or visit our website for more information www.kitchenazcabinets.com
