Kitchen Cabinets in Phoenix distressed, patina and rustic finishes

Looking for Kitchen Cabinets in distressed, patina or rustic finishes

Kitchen AZ Cabinets offers over 3,500 unique Kitchen and Bath Cabinets with Bridgewood Cabinetry, Merillat Cabinets and PCS Cabinetry.

What is Patina Cabinet Finish

High quality Patina cabinet finishes are hand-rubbed for added character, allowing cabinetry to appear well beyond its years with a distressed or rustic appearance.

There is a big difference in the quality of finishes, where as cheap (not inexpensive, we mean CHEAP!)  cabinetry, typically imported from China and advertized as "Built In America"  are not hand rubbed, they're simply coated with low quality paints and actually either stamped or brushed onto the surface. This type of low quality finish will not hold up to long and in many cases, when wet may even run.  Don't expect to see any warranty on the finish, yet alone the cabinets.
Kitchen AZ cabinets only uses reputable manufacturers that guaranty their Patina is factually Hand Rubbed, and, That only high quality paints and coatings are used so you can enjoy a 5 year to a lifetime warranty.

What is a Distressed Cabinet Finish

Cabinet may be distressed through a variety of techniques, with a score in the surface or a weathered look that has variations in the color and a rubbed finish that give age to simulate wear added to the wood's surface.
There are different Paints, some with more body and a heavy pigment that does not show the wood's grain, thus most paints used are thinner and allow the natural grain and cracks to show through.

Merillat Cabinets Distressed and patina Finish Quality Standards
**Kitchen AZ Cabinets is an Authorized Merillat Cabinet Dealer for The Phoenix Area, and Merillat offers many Distressed, Patina, Rustic and Antique Cabinet Finishes.
  1. Merillat selects only the finest Oak, Cherry, Hickory, Maple, and Pine. All surfaces are progressively sanded smooth, starting with #120 grit sandpaper, and finishing with #220 grit sandpaper.
  2. After sanding, surfaces are vacuumed to eliminate all dust particles.
  3. Equalizer stains are simultaneously applied to balance the base color of the wood.
  4. Toner is then applied to establish consistent color uniformity.
  5. A deep penetrating stain is applied to reveal the hidden beauty of the grain.
  6. All stained surfaces are then evenly hand-rubbed and wiped clean of excess stain.
  7. To complete the Old World technique of hand staining, the product is slowly air-dried.
  8. Flyspeck distressing is hand-applied to selected finishes requiring this furniture look.
  9. Merillat's specially formulated hi-solids wood sealer is pressure applied, penetrating all exposed wood surfaces for uniform protection.
  10. Sealed product is placed in specially designed high-temperature ovens to ensure a complete, thorough cure.
  11. All surfaces are again hand-sanded, providing a smooth, consistent surface to accept topcoat.
  12. An environmentally safe catalyzed topcoat, specially formulated to include the dual combination of clear resin chemistry and ultraviolet screen inhibitors, is applied. This custom finish provides maximum resistance to scuffing, dents, moisture, UV fade and household chemicals or agents.
  13. Top coated product is then cured in a 150-degree oven, creating a baked-on, full bodied, smooth surface, comparable to high-baked finishes generally applied to automobiles and major household appliances.
  14. Before shipping, each cabinet is inspected and polished, assuring a finished product of the quality that Merillat expects and our customers demand.
